The Titanium Ranger was the first purely American-made Ranger in Lightspeed Rescue. If he had been part of the original Japanese footage, his presence wouldn’t have been limited by the lack of suit-actor scenes. Ryan Mitchell would have been in every episode, participating in every Megazord battle and team-up. His “curse” (the cobra tattoo) would have been a much more prominent, terrifying plot point that affected the entire team’s morale.
The relationship between Captain Mitchell and his two children (Dana and Ryan) would have been the undisputed center of the show. Lightspeed Rescue would have felt more like a family drama than a public service announcement. The finale against Diabolico and Queen Bansheera would have been a true “family vs. family” showdown, with the Mitchells representing the strength of human bonds against the demons’ literal “family of monsters.”
