What if the “Lightspeed Rescue” was a secret government conspiracy?

If the public didn’t know the Rangers existed, and the team had to fight demons while “Men in Black-ing” the witnesses. It would have been a “darker” version of the show where the Rangers were viewed as urban legends or even terrorists by the media, forced to save a world that was actively trying to capture them.
