If Ransik had found a way to stabilize his mutation in the first episode, he might have become a charismatic political leader instead of a terrorist. The Time Force Rangers would be chasing a “beloved” figurehead, making them look like the villains. It would be a story about the danger of a “perfect” facade hiding a dark, mutant-supremacist agenda.
