The Morphin Masters are the god-like beings of the Power Rangers universe. If they had stepped in during the “Countdown to Destruction” instead of allowing Andros to kill Zordon, the “Z-Wave” might never have happened. While this sounds like a win, it would have meant that villains like Rita, Zedd, and Divatox were never purified. The galaxy would have been saved by a “divine” intervention, but the underlying evil would have remained, lingering in the shadows and waiting for the Masters to look away.

This would have fundamentally changed every season that followed. Lost Galaxy and Lightspeed Rescue wouldn’t have been about new threats; they would have been about the “unfinished business” of the United Alliance of Evil. The Rangers would have become more like “clerical warriors” for the Morphin Masters, losing their autonomy and the “human spirit” that Zordon always championed. The universe would be safer, but the heroes would be less like people and more like cosmic pawns.
