If the Green Ranger’s candle had never burned out, the “White Light” ceremony would never have happened, and the White Tigerzord would never have been created. Tommy would have continued as the team’s sixth-man specialist, likely evolving his Dragon Shield powers to match the strength of the Thunder Megazord. Without the upgrade to the White Ranger status, Tommy might not have naturally ascended to the leadership position, leaving Jason Lee Scott as the permanent, undisputed leader of the team throughout the Zedd era.
This would have radically changed Power Rangers Zeo. Since the Green Ranger powers were tied to the Power Coins, the destruction of the coins by Rito Revolto would have been even more devastating. Tommy might have had to lead a quest to find a new source of Green energy, or perhaps he would have been the one to stay behind while a different Ranger took the Zeo sub-crystals. The “legendary” status of the Green Ranger would be even more solidified, but the team’s tactical structure would have remained much more rigid and military-focused under Jason.
