The Beetleborgs’ arsenal was provided by Flabber and was based on the “Beetle Bond” technology found within the comics.
The Beetle Bonders
The transformation devices used by the kids. These were oversized, mechanical beetle-shaped devices that, when activated, would encased the user in “Bio-Armor.” They also served as communication devices between the kids and the Hillhurst monsters.
The Sonic Lasers
The team’s standard sidearms. Each laser was color-coded to the individual Borg (Blue, Red, or Green). They could fire concentrated bursts of sonic energy, capable of disorienting Magnavors before delivering a finishing shot.
The Pulsar Pistols
An upgraded sidearm introduced in the Metallix era. These were more compact and fired “high-frequency” light pulses, designed to pierce the thicker carapaces of the Crustacean monsters.
The Stinger Weapons
Each Borg had a unique melee weapon: Blue Stinger had the Stinger Claw, Red Stinger had the Stinger Blade, and Green Ranger had the Stinger Drill. These were the primary tools used to “finish” a monster by channeling the Borg’s elemental energy into a single point of impact.
The Gargantus
The Beetleborgs’ massive “carrier” mecha. It was a gargantuan mechanical beetle that the smaller AVs (Attack Vehicles) would dock into. Gargantus provided the heavy firepower needed when the Magnavors summoned giant-sized monsters.
The AVs (Attack Vehicles)
Individual beetle-themed craft: the Blue K beetle, the Green Hunter beetle, and the Red Fin beetle. These vehicles were autonomous but could be piloted, specializing in land-speed, aerial reconnaissance, and heavy excavation respectively.
The Chromium Gold Blaster
The signature weapon of the Titanium Silver and Chromium Gold Beetleborgs. It was a massive handheld cannon that could fire a “Metallic Blast” capable of vaporizing the most elite Crustacean generals.
The Roboborg
A giant, sentient robot summoned from the comics. Unlike a Megazord, Roboborg was an independent warrior that didn’t require the kids to be inside it to fight. It used a massive “Beetle Sword” and was the ultimate guardian of the Beetleborgs’ reality.
The Boron
Originally a villainous giant robot used by the Crustaceans, Boron was eventually “turned” to the side of good. It served as a powerful rival and later ally to Roboborg, representing the raw, untamed power of the “Dark” comic books.
The Sector Cycles
Bio-mechanical motorcycles used by the Beetleborgs for rapid deployment. These cycles appeared to be “alive,” with glowing insectoid eyes and a chittering engine sound, emphasizing the show’s weird blend of magic and machine.
